Shift and Calendar Tables

In this article, we will show how to register and change the working time and day in Asprova – setting up shift and calendar and assigning resources based on the calendar.

This is the Shift table where working hours are set. The Shift code is set to “All Day”, which means to operate for 24 hours.

asprova1

This is the Calendar table. The asterisk symbol (*) in the Resource column denotes “all resources” are available and will operate for 24 hours every day. In short, a 24-hour up-time every day.

asprova2

In the Order table, there is a request to produce 5 items of AX by 15:00 of June 5th.

asprova3

Press the reschedule button to see the operation.

Now, let’s add a lunch break in the operation. Go to the Shift table and add “Day Shift”, type in the Patterns field the following –  “8:0012:00;13:0017:00“. This tells us that the shift starts from 8:00 am until 12:00 nn, with an hour lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00, and then resumes operation from 13:00 to 17:00.

asprova5

Next, go to the Calendar table and set the Day Shift in the shift code and * in the Resource.
Input 11 in the Sort order because the larger Sort order will be prioritized.

asprova6

You will notice that grey fields will be displayed in the Resource Gantt Chart. It indicates the operating time of the resources and this is where the operations will be assigned.

asprova7

Press the Reschedule button. Operation will be scheduled with 8-12 and 13-17 shifts.

asprova8

We can also specify the shift directly at the Resource Gantt Chart. Right-click on the operation and select Holiday – this will make the specified date a “Day Off”.

asprova9

Press the Reschedule button. The operation was unassigned here because it became a holiday.
